Every year, thousands of young men and women attend Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. In 1968, I was one of them, and one humid summer's day in a classroom we were treated to an official publication of more than passing interest. In miniature, here are notes I made at the time on two small memo pages, later stapled to an information sheet. Twelve years later, I wrote a brief article for The A.P.R.O. Bulletin (APRO no longer exists) with illustrations from memory, as shown. Obviously, this military manual was viewed by countless thousands of airmen. For how long, I wonder? Interesting, if little else.
