We'll See About That
A Look magazine cover from 1946. Eighty years later, we're tempted to ask -- good grief, do it or don't do it, but get this over with so we can tentatively pack for better times, global human decimation or a return to the Stone Age. If not Iran, then somebody or something else AI-ish may hit the all-encompassing radioactive gong eventually. Don't bother packing the Play Station, but do remember to feed the cat before it and we potentially become mere x-ray images on neighborhood rocks. Meanwhile, stock up on plenty of nonperishable food so that if The Moment comes, your neighbors with more firepower and ammo than you can treat your pantry like discount day at a free government grocery store in New York City. Drones and nuke missiles with pinpoint accuracy, take-no-prisoners biological weapons and your close relative teetering on going berserk and murdering the whole family -- doesn't all of this waiting just kill you?
